Reflecting on a Moment of Joyhappyimage

Today we have a simple and lovely practice that is concentrated on remembering a joyful moment. The practice is to bring into memory an even in your life in which you felt completely alive, jovial, and full of joy. Here is how you can work this practice:

  1. Mindful breathing to settle into the present moment
  2. Connect to your joyful memory
  3. Use your five senses to really get connected to this memory.
    1. Sight – what you see
    2. Hearing – what sounds are present
    3. Touch – what is the felt sense in your body
    4. Taste – what comes up related to the sense of taste
    5. Smell – what smells might be connected to this experience
  4. Savor the experience for us long as you would like
  5. End with breath awareness
  6. Close with gratitude offered toward yourself for taking these sacred moments to practice
